Lifting methods: Sometimes, we use poor lifting techniques and put our backs in intense pain. Get some mechanical or human support while picking up substantial weights and avoid picking things up with a jerky upward movement. Make sure you bend in a comfortable way, bending your knees and keeping your back straight, so as not to cause any potential damage to either your back or the product. Keep yourself close to whatever you are picking up. If something weighs more than 20% of your weight, do not lift it. While moving, change direction with your feet instead of your back.
Inattentiveness: Sometimes, even the slightest of tasks such as picking up a paperclip from the floor, or pulling the dishes out of your dishwasher can cause you to hurt your back. Research has shown that such careless injuries occur when one is mentally or physically exhausted, normally at the end of the day, or after a bad sleep. Thus, exercise regularly so your muscles may adapt themselves to such movements. Furthermore, sleep well and rest properly.
Computing and commuting: While sitting in front of the internet, we get absorbed in a digital dimension, forgetting how to maintain a healthy sitting posture. Even while watching television or sitting on a couch or a chair, we begin experiencing back pain in just a matter of seconds and even after changing positions, it does not seem to go away. This is because our spinal discs run short of blood supply and nutrients, which makes them weaker over time. Furthermore, uneven pressure on our discs makes them more vulnerable to rupture. Use back support, get up after every 20 minutes, and adapt to a posture where you can keep your back straight and your elbows bent while performing any task.
Back pain is caused by the little things in our daily lives that we choose to ignore rather than making an effort to fix them.
